Help AIN Meet a Holiday Challenge!
HALLELUJAH! A $3,000 emergency grant from generous friends in the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Pacific Palisades just arrived. Now we need the rest of our network to join together to MATCH that amount so that AIN can provide at least as many holiday meals as we have in past years in a year of hardship for many We believe you can do it.
After Thanksgiving last year, AIN received a phone call from a Spanish speaking mother so very grateful that we made it possible for her small family to have a Thanksgiving together. The young family was looking not far in the future when the 2 year-old daughter would need a liver transplant. The family had been back and forth between Bakersfield and L.A. County + USC Medical Center numerous times over the preceding months. If not for AIN, Thanksgiving would have been just another day struggling to cope. This was one of 42 families AIN assisted with meals last November, with almost as many in December.
Typically our congregations and faith communities have come together to help us meet needs for holiday meals with cash donations or donations of $50 gift certificates from Ralph’s Market. We’re spreading word through our online community as well in this year of unusual need. Go to our donation page for easy online giving through Paypal or to download a contribution form to submit with a mailed contribution. If you have already contributed recently, why not pass the word along among friends in your community? Deacons? Mission Committee? Women's Group?
Do you think our network can rise to meet the challenge of our friends in Pacific Palisades? YES, WE CAN! |
