At this season of darkness outside and light in our hearts, greetings. Our fundraiser in October was called Let There Be Light and there was. It was our most successful event yet. Our clients continue to need our care and concern, and our work brings light to our hearts as well as lightening their burdens a little. And we anticipate a wonderful unfolding of new possibilities in the coming year. More on that in January.
May the light, peace and joy of this season fill your heart and home,
Nancy

Let There Be Light
In October we took a risk and held our annual benefit in a new and larger venue. It was a great success. Volunteers set the room with bright yellow flowers, we honored long serving volunteers and shared stories of light from both volunteer and patient perspectives while enjoying a lovely meal, cakewalk, auction and opportunity drawing. Click here to see pictures from the event.
We raised over $21,000 to support the work of Angel Interfaith Network. Key to that success was the generosity of our sponsors.
Sustaining Angels and Mission Markets
Did you know that most of our cash donations come in during the fourth quarter? We are so grateful for all the congregations and individuals who make us part of their year end giving. So far, support has come from All Saints Episcopal Church, Pasadena; Brentwood Presbyterian Church, Calvary Presbyterian Church, South Pasadena; Claremont Presbyterian Church, Oneonta congregational Church, Northminster Presbyterian Church, Diamond Bar; Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, and Tustin Presbyterian Church.
Have you made your year end gift to Angel Interfaith Network? It's not too late. You can donate online here or send your check to P.O. Box A, South Pasadena, CA 91031. Or is this the year you will spread your support throughout the year by become a Sustaining Angel? Your financial support helps us keep lights and heat on - it does get cold and dark even here in LA - and keeps families in their homes even when the breadwinner is hospitalized or is taking care of a sick child.
Serving Families
- When the little girl was born with developmental disabilities, the father abandoned the family. After four years of caring for her daughter, the mother's financial situation was very limited. The afternoon the little girl passed away, AIN was called by Catholic Charities to help with funeral expenses. Board member Fr. Chris Ponnet was able to advise the grieving mom about assistance available through her own church, saving her much needed resources for her own sustenance.
- This Christmas, Trinity Presbyterian Church teens once again gifted teens in families compromised by hospitalization. Volunteers delivered their gifts to the homes, in some cases along with holiday meals prepared and festively packed by Cub Scout Pack 7--a real community effort
